Head of Regulatory Affairs – Specialty Chemicals/Biocides

We have been engaged by a global specialty chemical company to identify their next Head of Regulatory Affairs for the Americas. The company’s principal business is ingredient chemistry for personal care, consumer products, coatings and related uses.

The company’s most significant regulatory activities are associated with their leadership position in disinfectant chemistry and biocidal materials. As such, the company is seeking a leader with a strong EPA-FIFRA registration reputation. Several years of related experience, to include group leadership, is needed. A record of success in agency advocacy, and with NGO’s, is an important element of one’s experience.

Duties will include the management of the company’s N.A. Regulatory Team, internal collaboration on new and existing product regulatory strategy, negotiation/advocacy with federal and state regulatory authorities and the monitoring of emerging regulatory standards which may affect the company’s business.

The position reports to the Global Director of Regulatory Affairs/Product Safety and will work from the US divisional headquarters in the Northeast U.S.

Regulatory Manager – FIFRA

The Leyden Group associates have been engaged by a large specialty chemical company seeking to hire a Regulatory Affairs Manager. The person will support domestic registration and regulatory compliance for products affected by EPA-FIFRA and other North American regulatory initiatives.

The main focus of the job will be ensuring compliance with Federal and State registration, primarily in the anti-microbial/disinfectant niche. The person hired will actively participate in a team environment for new product registration dossier preparation and defense. He/She will also represent the company on various trade association working groups and provide mentorship for team members around registration strategy and process.

This newly created position is an important succession plan hiring, in anticipation of a pending retirement, so offers a strong advancement opportunity. The position reports to a Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs. Location options include an office in the Northeast US or Southeast US and the company will consider a person working remotely.
